Amazon’s Kindle Unlimited service
has arrived in the UK, two months after launching in the US. It lets you read
as many ebooks as you like for a monthly fee of £7.99.
The service does for books what Spotify
did for music and Netflix for films, providing an ‘all you can read’ subscription
service. You can choose from more than 650,000 books and also listen to up to
2,000 audiobooks through Amazon’s Audible service. As well as being available
on Kindles, you can use Amazon’s Kindle apps for iOS, Android, Windows Phone,
BlackBerry, Windows 8, PCs and Macs (links for these can be found here).
To
give it a go, start the free 30-day trial, which offers the full service. Any
book that Is eligible has the Kindle Unlimited logo displayed on It. Just select
it and click “Read for £0.00”.
Be
aware that Amazon will automatically take £7.99 from your credit or debit card
at the end of the trial if you don’t cancel, so make a note in your calendar if
you don’t want to commit to the monthly fee.
