If
you accidentally delete a photo or video from your camera’s memory card, don’t
use the card for anything else because you could overwrite the data forever.
As
soon as you can, run Piriform’s free recovery tool Recuva (www.piriform.com/recuva) to see if you can rescue the lost files.
Connect the device to your PC. launch the program and either select Pictures or
Video when prompted by the Recuva Wizard. Select On my memory card or iPod’,
click Start and Recuva will look for your lost files. If first search fails. try again with
Deep Scan enabled. Recuva colour-codes its results to show
you the quality of the photos and videos it finds: if they’re green, you’ve got
a good chance of recovering them, but red means ‘unrecoverable and yellow is
‘very poor’. Select a file and click Recover to save it to your PC - don’t save
it back to the memory card or
you risk losing more.
