Boost your Dropbox space to 16GB


You can increase the 2GB storage limit of your free Dropbox account by referring your friends to the service via Twitter. Visit the Get morespace’ page and click ‘Connect your Twitter account’. Authorize Dropbox to use your account (it won’t be able to see your password or read your direct messages) and you’ll instantly get an extra 125MB of space. Tweet TunnelBear for 1GB of free data


The brilliant Virtual Private Network tool TunnelBear, which we recommended has a generous Twitter promotion. Earn cashback for checking into shops


Download the iPhone or Android app for cashback site Quidco (www.quidco.com) and you can earn a check-in reward when you visit participating high-street stores, simply by sharing your location on Twitter (or Facebook). The amounts you receive aren't huge sometimes as little as 5p per check-in but many big retailers are covered, including Waterstones, Homebase, Tesco, Asda and H Samuel.

Get cashback for referring friends


Rival cashback site TopCashback (www.topcashback.co.uk) pays you £7.50 when you refer friends through Twitter (as well as on Facebook and by email) Just visit the Tell-A-Friend page (www.topcashback.co.uk/tell-a-friend to get your unique referral link, then tweet it to your followers. When someone signs up using the link and accumulates £10 cashback in their account, you’ll get your £7.50. There’s no limit on the number of friends you can refer. Quidco has a similar referral scheme (www.quidco.com/referrals) that pays £2.50 for each friend who joins.


Cut the cost of local deals


Invite your friends to join the daily-deals site Groupon and for each one who signs up and buys a deal. you'll get £6 credit to spend on the site. To earn you the referral bonus, your friend just needs to click through to Groupon and register using the unique link you share on Twitter. The catch is that they must buy the deal within 72 hours of clicking the link for the first time and not cancel their account within the first seven days.


Get friends to join Giffgaff


When you order a SIM card from pay-as-you-go mobile network Giffgaff, you’re given a unique order page. Tweet the link to your Twitter friends and, it anyone orders and activates a SIM through this page, you’ll both get 500 payback points, worth £5.
