2014 is still compatible with Windows XP but because Microsoft has ended its
support for XP. Its important security updates for that OS have stopped. AVG.
along with other security companies, recommends that our Windows customers
upgrade to a version of windows that is still supported by Microsoft in order
to receive those important security updates.
Also,
as each version of Windows becomes more secure than the previous generation, we
recommend using the most recent version possible. We would therefore recommend
Windows 81 or, at the very least Windows 7 SP1. However because we still have
users on Windows XP, we still support the OS. But we advise customers to upgrade
to more recent versions.
