Panda’s free anti-malware tool has
had its name tweaked (it was formerly Panda Cloud Antivirus Free Edition) and
jumps from version 3 to 15 (as in 2015). However, the look of the software
hasn’t changed: it still has the same tiled design, evidently inspired by Windows
8, and offers all the same features including an on-demand scanner, process
monitor, USB vaccine and rescue kit.

The main change lies under the bonnet with
the introduction of Panda’s new XMT (Extreme Malware Terminator) Smart
Engineering engine. In tests, this new engine has enabled the software to
achieve excellent results, making it probably the best free antivirus program
currently available.
