On 27 August, Mozilla announced that it had
leaked thousands of email addresses and encrypted passwords, for the second
time in a month. Testers of Bugzilla, Mozilla’s bug-tracking software, were
warned in a blog post that their private information had been posted on a
‘publicly accessible server’ for three months.
They were told to change their passwords, particularly if they used similar sounding ones for other services. It is not clear whether the information was accessed by anyone during the security lapse.
